As #Xiaomi continues to increase its market share and dominance in the Indian market, here is their latest commercial featuring the rising star of Indian cinema - Ranveer Singh.
The ad is deliberately loud and over the top, done to catch the eyeballs of the target audience it is catering to, and who better than Ranveer Singh to pull that off with his crazy energy. His off-screen personality and dressing make his act in this film quite natural and believable. The lyrics of the song are apt to show a bit of narcissism of Ranveer. The timing of the ad couldn't have been better as it comes at a time when Ranveer is basking in the success of #GullyBoy.
What is interesting is the mug shot of Manu Kumar Jain, the managing director of Xiaomi India who appears for a few seconds in the film. Ranveer then ends the film with the lines 'We are on. We are on like Donkey Kong.'
I wouldn't be surprised to see Manu featuring in more ads in the months and years ahead. We can come back and refer to this post when that happens, and I will gladly say 'I knew he was on.'
