Few months back, I visited the town of Freiburg in Germany. Just like other European cities, there were many musicians displaying their talent on the streets. People would stop sometimes and just move past at other times.
However, there was one musician who was getting more people to stop and watch him because of the toy band that he had!
This guy was a #marketing genius. Here's why:
1. #TargetAudience: He knew his target audience quite well. By using toys as part of his band, he was able to get the attention of kids, who would then stop to watch him and also make the parents to stop.
2. #Profitability: He was earning more than others because more people were watching him and also, because lot of parents wanted to teach their children the right values of paying for what you are watching.
3. #Differentiation: He was unique and differentiated from other musicians, which gave him a competitive advantage.
4. #Location: He had chosen a crossroad, which was a high traffic area, leading to more footfalls and visibility for him.
5. #Innovation: His approach was extremely innovative and not easy to replicate. He could do many variations by changing the toys, the characters or the instruments.
Don't miss the conductor who is leading the orchestra 😊
