#PictureStory 23 : Warmth

Having spent the first 10 years of her life on the streets of Delhi, Jamuna knew the real meaning of spine-chilling cold. With a single piece of clothing on her, sitting next to the fire throughout the night was often not enough to take away the numbness that she felt on her skin with the chilly winds hitting her bones. Even the mannequins in the store window opposite her street seemed to be wearing more wollens more frequently than her.

Today, 20 years later, after having done well in life, Jamuna hasn't forgotten those days. That's why, when she saw this stray dog on the same street that was her home once, Jamuna made a special jacket for the dog so that he could feel the warmth that she was not able to feel back then.
